A MALE paraglider died on Saturday following a flight at Colt Park, near Ribblehead.

Emergency services, including two ambulances and Cave Rescue Organisation, were dispatched in the early afternoon to reports of an incident involving a paraglider.

CRO received a call from the ambulance service as it was dealing with an earlier incident at Malham involving a male who had experienced problems while climbing the steps to the top of the cove.

A spokesperson for CRO said: "One of our vehicles, with advanced medical personnel on board was redirected from Malham and a duty controller was also sent to the scene.

"Other members were called to our depot to await developments.
