POLICE have confirmed that a man has died after a fire at a house in Pudsey.
Emergency services were called to the property on Cemetery Road shortly before 10pm on Friday.
West Yorkshire Police said a man, aged in his 40s, was given emergency treatment but he was later pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire but officers said it is not believed to be suspicious.
A police spokesperson said: "At 9.48pm on April 12, police were contacted by the fire service who were attending a fire in a room at a house in Cemetery Road, Pudsey.
"A man, aged in his 40s, was removed from the property and given emergency treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later.
"The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious but detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing to carry out enquiries into the circumstances."
