THE owner of a Bradford tailoring shop has spoken of how the face of one of his workers turned blue after witnessing a fatal stabbing.

Kulsuma Akter, 27, from Oldham, died after being stabbed in broad daylight on Westgate in Bradford at the junction with Drewton Road on Saturday.

She was with her baby at the time of the attack.

Habibur Masum, 25, also from Oldham, is the subject of a major manhunt by West Yorkshire Police.

Imran Khan, owner of IK Collections based in Westgate, said one of his staff members witnessed the attack.

"One of my staff members saw everything that happened," he said.

"He came running to me and said 'Imran somebody has been stabbed'. I saw his face was blue."

Mr Khan proceeded to call an ambulance before rushing over to the victim.

He added: "I ran across the road and saw two women crying with the pram. There was another woman on the floor.

"I was on the phone to the ambulance service for nine minutes and told them she was not breathing.

"They told me to try to find her pulse and I could not find it. I ended up covering my fingers with blood.

"Two doctors who were passing by were giving her CPR."

Police have said after the attack, which happened at 3.21pm, Masum got a bus from Market Street at 3.30pm.

Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) at West Yorkshire Police, Damien Miller, said he got off the bus on Killinghall Road at 3.42pm, before heading towards Bradford Moor Park.

There have been no confirmed sightings since but ACC Miller urged taxi drivers to get in touch, as they may have picked Masum up on Saturday afternoon and he said the suspect would have most likely used cash.

"All the community is very shocked and upset," Mr Khan said.

"While I was on the phone to the ambulance service, everyone came together to try help out.

"The worst bit for me has been the nightmares that are coming out now."

Any sightings of Masum should be reported to West Yorkshire Police via 999.

Any other information that could assist the investigation should be reported via Live Chat online, or by calling 101, quoting log number: 1071 of April 6.
