BRADFORD City and care home staff have helped to put a smile on a resident's face.

Trevor Eager, who lives at Spen Court in Heckmonwike, has been a fan of the Bantams for more than 75 years.

He has always wanted a signed football keepsake of the club - and now Trevor's wish has become a reality.

Care home staff got in touch with Bradford City FC and players signed a football for Trevor.

Trevor's son Jonathon received the football and he then presented it to his thrilled father, accompanied by staff and residents at the home.

Bantams' manager Graham Alexander also made a personal video message for Trevor, who played for the boys' team in his younger days.

Paula Pearson, general manager at the home, said: "We believe that every moment is worth cherishing.

"We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Spen Court.

"Trevor has lived at Spen Court for a while and is beloved by staff and residents alike.

"Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making his dream come true.

"Seeing Trevor so happy was such joy to see."
