DETECTIVES investigating a serious assault where a man had two of his teeth knocked have released an image in connection with the probe.

The incident occurred on a service between Leeds and Bradford Interchange at around 11pm on Saturday, February 10.

It is reported that the victim challenged a group of men who were engaging in drunken and inappropriate behaviour.

One of the group is believed to have responded by punching the man and knocking out two of his teeth.

Police believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Detectives investigating a serious assault are today releasing this image in connection.

"Between 11pm and 11.15pm on Saturday, February 10, on board a train travelling between Leeds and Bradford Interchange the victim challenged a group of men who were engaging in drunken and inappropriate behaviour.

"One of the group responded by punching the man and knocking out two of his teeth.

"Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation.

"Anyone who recognises him or has further information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 840 of 10 February.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
