A MAN has been arrested after a Subaru being pursued by police crashed into parked cars on a a major Bradford road.

Killinghall Road was closed for over an hour yesterday following the incident, which began on Fagley Lane.

The Subaru was requested to stop by police before driving off at speed towards Thornbury, West Yorkshire Police said. 

The car was followed to Killinghall Road where the collision occurred.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later released under investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 6.10pm yesterday, a vehicle was requested to stop by police as it drove along Fagley Lane in Bradford.  

"The Subaru car, which had damage to its front end, drove off at speed towards Thornbury.  

"A pursuit was authorised and the vehicle was followed to Killinghall Road, where it collided with parked cars a short time later. 

"The road was closed temporarily to allow for the damaged vehicles to be recovered.  

"A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and later released under investigation for enquiries to continue."
