SEVERAL major Bradford roads will be disrupted due to resurfacing works.

Bradford Council has announced the works will take place this month - starting today (Thursday, April 4).

Barkerend Road, Manningham Lane, Killinghall Road, and Wilsden Road are among the routes affected.

One of the roads undergoing "essential resurfacing" is High Street in Wibsey.

It will be shut from Croft Street up to and including the roundabout by the Co-Op from April 8 to 12 from 9.30am to 7pm.

On the closure, a Bradford Council spokesperson said: "Diversions will be in place and residents will be allowed access when and where it’s possible.

"We apologise for the inconvenience this essential work may cause, but it can’t be carried out overnight due to the noise and as the road at this section isn’t wide enough it can’t be done safely using temporary traffic lights.”
