A BODY has been found after a huge search for a missing young woman.

North Yorkshire Police announced late last night that the search for Molly Garbutt, 25, from Leeds had been called off after a body was found at around 3.15pm on Wednesday.

West Yorkshire Police issued an appeal for information and sightings of the 25-year-old early yesterday morning, who was last seen in her black Renault Clio.

Initial enquiries began and North Yorkshire Police also released a missing person appeal in relation to Molly, with her car found parked off the B6265, near to Dibbles Bridge at Hebden, in the Yorkshire Dales just before 8am on Wednesday.

The force conducted searches in the surrounding to try find Molly, which were supported by RAF Mountain Rescue, the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, and a HM Coastguard helicopter.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "While formal identification has not yet taken place, Molly’s family have been informed about the death and they are being supported by the police.

"We ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time as we prepare a report for the coroner."

Officers are now appealing for any information that could assist.

"The search for missing 25-year-old Leeds woman Molly Ann Garbutt has been called off after a body was found at around 3.15pm today (Wednesday 3 April 2024).

"We issued an urgent appeal for information and sightings of Molly whose black Renault Clio car had been located just before 8am parked off the B6265 near to Dibbles Bridge at Hebden.

"Following initial enquiries and an appeal by West Yorkshire Police early this morning, North Yorkshire Police has been conducting searches in the surrounding area in the effort to find Molly.
