A PLOT of land that recently hit the headlines due to a controversial planning application will go to auction on Thursday.

The land at 78A Nab Wood Drive is made up of a narrow sliver of land between two semi-detached homes that is access to a one-acre plot of land – much of which lies within the Green Belt.

There have been numerous planning applications to build on the site dating back to the early 1990s, all of which have been refused.

In February a planning application to build a single property on the narrow area of land in the Nab Wood area was withdrawn by applicant Councillor Arshad Hussain (Lab, Toller) – Chair of the Bradford Area Planning Panel after fellow councillors on the Keighley and Shipley Planning Panel heavily criticised the plans.

The land will go under the hammer at a Sharpes Property Auction on Thursday with bids starting at £120,000.

The auction listing describes the one-acre site as “ideal for residential development STPP (subject to planning permission)".
