Greater Manchester Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and assault of an emergency worker after an alleged incident on Platting Road, Saddleworth, at 12.30am on Good Friday.
The force subsequently said Fenton Rogers, 20, of Wrigley Street, Oldham, was charged with drink-driving. He was bailed in relation to the charge of assault of an emergency worker.
Rogers is set to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court on May 16.
