A BRADFORD primary school opened its doors to hold a multi-faith Iftar celebration.

Marshfield Primary School organised the event, which it described as a "testament to unity and inclusivity".

Tuesday's celebration was attended by members of the community from diverse backgrounds.

Guests included local families, an Imam, a vicar and Councillor Talat Sajawal.

DJ Bally and artist Zeshaan Tariq contributed to the spiritual ambiance, creating an atmosphere of harmony and togetherness.

Highlighting the spirit of giving, several staff members also took part in a sponsored fast, raising an impressive £750 for local charity the Al Khair Foundation.

Headteacher Zara Kearns expressed her gratitude, saying: "This event truly embodies the values of our school community - unity, compassion and generosity.

"I am incredibly proud of our staff and families for their dedication in making this occasion so special.

"I commend the efforts of Marshfield staff members and families for their commitment to fostering understanding and connection within the community.

"The multi-faith Iftar was not just a gathering but a deeply moving experience, symbolising the values of respect, solidarity and community.

"It exemplified the power of coming together to celebrate diversity and shared humanity," she added.
