A PERSON suffered burn injuries in an extensive building fire near Scammonden Reservoir.

More than a half dozen fire service crews were called at 9.37pm last night (Saturday) to the scene of the agricultural building and domestic property fire on Green Slacks Lane near Scammonden Reservoir.0

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The building was 100 per cent involved in fire, with crews using three large jets and a ground monitor to get the fire under control.

"One casualty self rescued from the property suffering with burns, and was taken to hospital via ambulance."

Cleckheaton, Rastrick, Halifax, Huddersfield, Meltham and Slaithwaite fire stations attended the scene along with a hose layer unit and a technical rescue unit.
