A NUMBER of public footpaths in the district are to be closed while repairs are carried out to make them safe.

Footpath number 67 (Bradford Southern), Euroway Industrial Estate, Bradford, will be closed from today from its junction with Roysdale Way to its junction with footpath No.68(Bradford Southern) and its junction with Mill Carr Hill Road.

The footpath is, says Bradford Council, being closed ‘because of the likelihood of danger to the public.’

The closure order will come into effect at 8am today and remain in force until 6pm on Wednesday May 29, 2024.

No alternative routes for pedestrians affected by the proposal will be available.

Also being temporarily closed for safety reasons is footpath number 73(Bradford South), Bierley, from its junction with Footpath number 76 (Bradford South) to its junction with Footpath number 75 (Bradford South).

Alternative routes for pedestrian traffic affected by the order will be available via footpath number 75 (Bradford South), Shetcliffe Lane, Footpath number 76 (Bradford South) and vice versa.

The order came into effect on March 11 and will remain in force until 6pm on Tuesday September 10, 2024.

In Cottingley footpath number 5 is being closed from its junction with Manor Farm Close to its junction with Manor Road while work is carried out to make it safer.

Alternative routes for pedestrians affected by the closure will be via Manor Road, Rycroft Avenue, Copy Lane, March Cote Lane, Manor Farm Close and vice versa.

The proposed order came into effect at 8am on March 20, 2024 and remain in force until 6pm on Saturday April 13, 2024.

A road in Cottingley is being temporarily closed due to electrical works on or near Manor Farm Close. It affects the length of Manor Farm Close from a point outside number 1 Manor Farm Close to a point outside number 21.

No alternative routes for traffic are available but pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the work.

The order came into operation at 8am on March 21 and will remain in force until 6pm on Monday April 8.
