A PHARMACIST has avoided a driving ban after she went almost double the speed limit on a major Bradford road.
Shakeela Hassan, of Alder Street in Huddersfield, hit 57mph on the 30mph Toller Lane between Lilycroft Road and Ashwell Road.
The 35-year-old committed the offence in an Audi Q2 on August 4 of last year.
Court documents showed Hassan avoided a totting disqualification due to her mitigating circumstances.
Amongst these, the file says she is a self-employed pharmacist.
Hassan runs a few pharmacies and needs to attend them urgently when required, the documents add.
If the Huddersfield woman was to lose her licence, she would be unable to do this.
She was fined £692 and her driving record was endorsed with six points at Bradford Magistrates hearing on Wednesday, March 6.
Hassan also had to pay a victim surcharge of £277 and £110 in court costs.
