Yorkshire Air Ambulance has launched a new charity challenge to help the service keep running seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Children are invited to become ‘Heli Heroes’ by taking on a sponsored hop, skip, or walk this April.
Participants must complete the challenge while dressed in custom “Heli Hop” headbands provided by the charity.
The emergency service charity’s challenge is open to primary schools, nurseries and childcare settings.
Every child who completes the challenge will receive a certificate following their Heli Hop.
YAA currently operates a fleet of Airbus H145 Helicopters, an upgraded 5 blade helicopter and the first of its kind to come of the production line and into the UK.
Trauma patients are transferred to the nearest major trauma centre, flying at speeds of up to 160 mph.
Specialist HEMS Paramedic, Matty McCabe, said: "I'm thrilled that we can offer a glimpse into our life-saving missions to local children.
“Every school and childcare provider that joins us on our Heli Hop challenge, stands in solidarity with our life-saving work, ensuring we can continue flying across Yorkshire and making a difference where it matters most!"
