POLICE have issued an update after a man carrying an axe was arrested in Bradford city centre.
Armed officers swooped on the city centre last Thursday (March 7) afternoon just after 2pm.
It came after West Yorkshire Police received a number of reports of a male carrying an axe.
Police made an arrest on suspicion of the possession of an offensive weapon at around 2.14pm.
A man has since been charged and bailed with conditions.
He will appear in court later this month, a spokesperson from the force told the Telegraph & Argus today.
Last Thursday, West Yorkshire Police said: "Armed officers attended and a short time later a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon."
