A MAN who died following a crash on a Bradford road has been named locally.

There was a huge emergency services presence at the scene of the three-car crash.

It happened on Bolton Road, near the junction of Boars Well Drive, just before 9pm on Thursday, March 7.

A man in his 20s died in hospital from injuries he suffered in the crash.

Four other people were taken to hospital and an arrest was made in connection with the incident. 

Police have now confirmed the arrested man has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The man who passed away has been named locally as 21-year-old Husayn Ali, of Shipley.

Floral tributes have been left at the scene of the crash. 

Debris from the crash and damage to a gate and a small tree in a garden could be seen on Bolton Road, near the junction of Boars Well Drive.

Fundraiser created

Over £3,500 has been raised for the charity Muslim Hands as Husayn's family hope to build a water well in his name.

The page, which was created by Marina Ruma over the weekend, says: "Unfortunately our beloved cousin brother Husayn Ali was involved in a tragic accident on March 7 and has returned to his lord.

"With Ramadan around the corner, we are hoping to raise money to build a water well in the name of our beloved cousin.

"The money donated will go to the charity Muslim Hands which has a 100 per cent donation and will be built in the most needed area."

What has West Yorkshire Police said?

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said on Friday: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Bradford last night which resulted in a driver suffering fatal injuries.

"The collision happened on Bolton Road, close to the junction with Boars Well Drive, at 8.50pm last night and involved three vehicles – a black Skoda Fabia travelling in the direction of Shipley Airedale Road, a silver VW Golf travelling towards Queens Road and a Seat Leon Cupra also travelling in the direction of Shipley Airedale Road.

"The Fabia was involved in a head-on collision with the Golf causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

"The driver of the Fabia, a male aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he later died in the early hours of this morning.

"Two male passengers in the Fabia were also taken to hospital with serious injuries while a further male passenger was also taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.

"The driver of the Golf was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

"The male driver of the Seat has been arrested in connection with the collision and enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.
