THE board in charge of a £25 million plan to regenerate Shipley is looking for new members.

The Shipley Towns Fund board is hoping to recruit volunteers who can use their skills and local knowledge to help deliver a series of projects to boost the area.

The board is made up of representatives from local businesses as well as charitable and voluntary organisations, with support from Bradford Council.

Alongside other funding, the Government-funded Shipley Towns Fund investment is currently delivering key schemes such as the rejuvenation of Shipley Market, the Shipley Sustainable Community Hub and the Community, Arts, Heritage and Future Technology Centre in Saltaire.

As projects are now in the delivery stage, the board is looking to fill key skills and expertise that contribute to the decision-making and implementation process.

Adam Clerkin, chair of the Shipley Towns Fund Board, said: “We’re incredibly fortunate to have a really capable group of people who give up their time voluntarily to help us deliver these exciting projects, which will have such a positive impact on the area.

“We’re looking for more enthusiastic people to join us with expertise in one or more of the following areas - funding strategies, urban regeneration, community representation, risk management, inclusivity and diversity, and sustainability.”

Anyone interested in the role should send an up-to-date covering letter and CV outlining their expertise and skills to townsfundshipley@bradford.gov.uk by April 5.
