TRAIN services in the Bradford district are being disrupted this morning after a wartime bomb was discovered.

The bomb has been found near the railway at Apperley Bridge.

A spokesperson for Northern said: "Services between Leeds and Shipley are currently being disrupted due to a wartime bomb being discovered near the railway.

"All lines are blocked.

"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed.

"Disruption is expected until 12.45pm."

Trains between Leeds and Bradford Forster Square are among the services unable to run currently. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Road closures are in place on the A658 Harrogate Road at Apperley Bridge, and motorists are advised to find an alternative route."
