A SPECIAL flash mob performance will celebrate International Women’s Day in The Broadway Shopping Centre.
Shoppers will be invited to join in with the event, presented by Yorkshire Dance’s Dance On programme, on Friday, March 8. The two five minute performances will be at 12noon and 12.30pm.
International Women’s Day celebrates the cultural, political and socioeconomic achievements of women and this year’s theme is Inspire Inclusion.
The Dance On programme for older people challenges perceptions around dance and age. It offers a warm, welcoming space for participants aged over 55 to express themselves through dance, exercise and meet new friends.
Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming back the flash mob into the centre to celebrate International Women’s Day. This is the fourth time the performance has appeared in the centre, i’is a great opportunity to support both Yorkshire Dance and Dance On.”
Dance On participants across Bradford have been rehearsing a short routine. The public are encouraged to come along and join in. No dance or performance experience is needed, and the routine can be learned from a video beforehand.
To get involved, arrive at the performing space, next to Costa Coffee, on Friday, March 8 from 11.30am. Wear purple if you can.
