Police cordon on Long Lane

The Telegraph & Argus visited the scene on Monday, where investigating officers could be seen examining what remained of the car, as well as taking photos on a tripod of the vehicle.

Police tape stretched across the road from just after Long Lane's junction with The Fairways - where Express Golf is situated - to a few hundred yards down the road, heading towards Bingley Road.

The vehicle was within the cordon, parked to the left of the road, looking from The Fairways junction.

A scene is still in place this evening while forensic examination is undertaken.

Officers are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, according to the police spokesperson.
