WEATHER experts are warning of possible flooding this weekend as "persistent" rain falls. 

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain for West Yorkshire, starting at 3pm tomorrow and ending at 6pm on Sunday.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "An area of persistent and occasionally heavy rain is expected to move from west to east across the warning area during Saturday and Sunday, falling on already saturated ground. 

"Some disruption is likely."

What to expect, according to the Met Office

  • Bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer

  • Spray and flooding on roads will probably make journey times longer

  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely

  • Some interruption to power supplies and other services is likely
