THE bomb squad was called after a man was found dead in a house in the Bradford district.
Police attended a property in Low Bank, Oakworth, on Tuesday morning after receiving reports of concerns for the safety of a man.
Officers subsequently found the body of a man.
His death is not being treated as suspicion.
According to West Yorkshire Police, enquiries at the property located what was thought to be an antique hand grenade.
The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team then attended and a cordon was in place to allow further investigations to take place.
Police have been at the scene to conduct searches and ensure there are no objects of concern.
Officers confirmed there is no risk to the wider public and described it as an "isolated incident".

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to an address at Low Bank, Oakworth, at 9.19am on Tuesday following reports of concern for the safety of a male.
"Upon attending the address, officers found the man's body and he was confirmed to have died.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious.
"Enquiries at the property located what is thought to be an antique hand grenade.
"The Explosive Ordnance Disposal attended and a cordon was in place for a short time to allow for further investigations to take place.
"Police have been at the scene to conduct searches to ensure that there no objects of concern.
"There is no risk to the wider public - this is an isolated incident."
