A BRADFORD district pub has reopened under new management.

The Junction, on Baildon Road in Baildon, reopened at the end of January and has been 'constantly busy' since then.

“It’s an iconic pub on a busy road,” said new landlord Nathan High, who runs The Junction with his wife Beth.

Beth said: “We opened January 27 and we’ve been busy constantly since then.

"And a lot of people don’t know we’re open yet.

“The amount of beer we’re going through is ridiculous, in a good way.

“We have a rotation of beers. We have five hand pulls – four real ales and one cider. We also have three guest kegs.

“We’ve been in touch with CAMRA because at one time this was an iconic real ale pub. We’re hoping to host beer festivals in the future.

“We hosted our first Quiz Night last Sunday and the place was packed out. We decided to hold it at an earlier 6pm to 8pm time and that proved to be popular.

“We’re a wet-led pub at the moment but we’re hoping to have food vendors in the beer garden in the summer and eventually we’d like to be able to serve food.”

Beth also spoke about how she and Nathan have been busy refurbishing The Junction since they received the keys on January 7.

She said: “Everything needed replacing, but Nathan has got a lot of contacts as he’s been in the hospitality industry for a long time.

“It took us just shy of three weeks to get everything sorted, but we’re really excited to have our own place.”

Nathan added: “We’ve taken on the lease. It’s a bold move but we’ve done it.

“It’s something we’ve always wanted to do.

“It’s a local pub and is only five minutes from where we live.

“My family grew up in Baildon, so I was always down here. I have a lot of memories of The Junction.

“We’ve had a lot of friends and family help us to get it ready, so we’d like to say thank you to them.”

In a post on The Junction’s Facebook page, Beth wrote: “Nathan and myself would just like to thank every single one of you who have been to visit us on our first weekend.

“We really do appreciate it and would love it if you’d be able to leave a review, also tell your friends and family we are open.

“Let’s get the Junction pub back on the map.

“Thank you all so so much from the bottom of our hearts.”
