POLICE have warned drivers to keep their windows shut once they have parked up.
This past weekend, officers found several cars parked up with their windows open.
Police say this provides thieves opportunities to enter the vehicle and steal items inside it.
The force advised motorists to take that second or two to make sure their vehicle is secure.
A post on the West Yorkshire Police - Batley and Spen Facebook page said: "Over the weekend, officers from Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing team discovered a number of vehicles parked and unattended with windows open.
"Even with the smallest gap it can provide the opportunity for a thief to gain entry and steal items.
"Please ensure you take that second or two to ensure your vehicle is secure."
