A MOTORIST was clocked driving at 108mph on a Bradford district road.

Police caught the driver breaking the law on Airevalley Road in Keighley, which has a speed limit of 70mph.

Meanwhile, they found a motorist doing 95mph on the Keighley to Silsden bypass, which also has a 70mph limit.

Someone was clocked driving at 65mph on Long Lee Lane in Keighley, which has a speed limit of 30mph, while another person did 60mph on Bradford Road, Riddlesden, which has a 40mph limit.

Police said "numerous traffic offence reports and reports for summons to court" have been issued in the Keighley area over the last week and described the above crimes as "notable results".

The crackdown is part of work under Operation Shipdon to target speeding and anti-social driving on the area's streets.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The operation deploys dedicated patrols particularly on evenings and into the early hours to key locations targeting speeding.

"Enforcement will continue as part of Operation Shipdon across the Keighley area."
