A CLUSTER of businesses and people in Bradford have been nominated for regional awards once again.

The Yorkshire Choice Awards recognises local people and independent businesses that are inspirational.

The Bradford City FC Community Foundation received nominations in three categories.

Pavan Sembi, Mary Myers, and the foundation itself are up for Inspirational Individual, Volunteer of the Year, and the Charitable Excellence Award.

The foundation's CEO Ian Ormondroyd, said: "I am full of pride that all of our efforts have the chance to be recognised across the county.”

She told the T&A: "I’m very proud of this and hope it will help raise awareness of the nipple innovation project charity that I run to help people in the breast cancer community."

"To be nominated for the Yorkshire's Choice Awards is truly an honour," she told the T&A.

"I am just overwhelmed as suffering with mental health hasn't been easy for me.

"I have come out on the other side and want to show that there is a light at the end of the tunnel."

Paul Holmes, Clinical Operations Manager, said: "Being nominated for the Charitable Excellence Award in The Yorkshire Choice Awards is a testament to the collective dedication of our entire team at YAA."

Each award winner is decided by a public online vote, which is now live until April 12.

The winners will be announced during The Yorkshire Choice Awards Gala Dinner on June 7 at The Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road.
