A BRADFORD school is appealing for help to transport a special item.

A spokesperson for Hanson Academy said: "Following a very generous offer from Cartwright Hall to donate a large glass display cabinet to the museum at Hanson the school has been unable to fund the removal and delivery of this expensive cabinet.

"The school set up its own museum at the start of the academic year on a shoestring budget and this has become a big hit with students and staff.

"The cabinet would be a major development and allow the museum to display larger items such as costumes.

"As well as covering the evolution of everyday products the museum celebrates religious and cultural events.

If anyone can help with either meeting the £450 cost of transporting the cabinet or are able to transport it for the school before a section of Cartwright Hall which houses the cabinet closes for building work on February 9, they should contact Hanson Academy on 01274 776200 and ask to speak to Brian Russell or Cameron Rayner in the Design and Technology Department.

According to Bradford Council's website, there will be maintenance works at Cartwright Hall taking place between Saturday, February 10, and Monday, February 19.

Cartwright Hall Room and the Refreshment Room Cafe will be fully closed to the public during this time.
