A BRADFORD city centre music venue is now serving brunch.

The Underground, on Duke Street, launched its smaller Platform Bar last year which now offers cocktails and food three days a week.

To celebrate Independent Venues Week, the venue has put on a new food menu - including a Saturday Morning Brunch Club.

Punters will be able to enjoy a range of meals from a full English to tacos to eggs benedict.

He said: "I think it’s clear to see we are evolving at a fast pace and have launched ourselves into 2024 with quite the bang.

"Our gig attendance numbers have been fantastic, and the launch of our cocktail and food menus show that we mean business in 2024."

"We’ve always had a strong passion for grassroots music and arts, and that will continue to be our main focus.

"Grassroots venues are simply not receiving enough support, considering this is where the names of the future cut their teeth, and how many people a gig can bring to a district.

"So we have to adapt, and expand what we do so we can continue to support the amazing musicians we are honoured to host every week."

"We reinforce the venue to be robust enough to not exclusively rely on income from gigs, so we can continue to showcase Bradford’s amazing grassroots music scene, and that’s where the new food menus come in – especially the Saturday morning Hangover Brunch Club.

The Underground boasts live music and events three-five days a week and was even featured on Channel 4’s Rosie Jones’ Trip Hazard.

The venue also hosts a Late Night Social on Friday and Saturday nights, with free pool, table tennis, DJs, and a dancefloor.
