Asda petrol station on Rooley Lane to go cashless this summer

The Asda petrol station in the Bowling Area of Bradford is set to go cashless in 2024.

Asda announced a further 68 stores will go cashless by this summer, according to reports.

It means motorists can only pay for fuel at the pump, instead of going up to a manned kiosk.

Drivers will have to pay before filling up, meaning a ringfenced amount of £99 will be taken out of their account.

The change left over will then be deposited into the customer's bank account.

Customers can use a credit or debit card as well as their phone.

There are now more than 150 unmanned Asda patrol forecourts.

Staff who currently work behind the petrol station tills will be relocated into stores, an Asda spokesperson said.
