TESCO Supermarket says it is working to repair the heating at its Skipton store after customers and staff battled with this week's plunging temperatures.

One shopper said it was colder inside the Craven Street store than it was outside and that members of staff were telling people that the heating had been off all week.

They said: "I think it is disgusting; it's absolutely freezing in there, it's just not good enough; the staff are all doing their best and are wrapped up against the cold, but it's colder inside the store than it is outside."

A spokesperson for Tesco said: “Our maintenance team are working to repair the heating at our Skipton Superstore and we hope to have it fixed as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
