THE West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team was active in combating crime in the Otley Road area of Shipley today (Wednesday).

In one incident, they arrested a shoplifter at B&M Stores. They also caught a driver with illegal tint on their car and they also seized a vehicle which had no MOT and tax and the driver had no insurance.

In one post on X, formerly Twitter, the Steerside Enforcement Team said: "Not the best idea to steal from a shop right where there's an Operation Steerside going on right outside. We were right on cue to assist B&M Stores on Otley Road, Shipley, when they made us aware. One person arrested and all property recovered."

Another Steerside post said: "The sound of someone removing their vehicle's illegal tints never ceases to please. Twenty-eight per cent of light permitted through, well below the legal requirement of 70 per cent. The driver was reported for the offence on Otley Road, Shipley."

And a third Steerside post read: "This vehicle was recovered on behalf of the DVLA this morning from Otley Road, Shipley. It was untaxed since August 2023. It also had no valid MOT. The driver was reported for all offences."
