A BRADFORD district restaurant is to shut after "three wonderful years".

Para Picar, on Kirkgate in Shipley town centre, will close in the spring of this year.

Bosses at the tapas restaurant said they are now "actively looking for someone who may be interested in taking over the business/premises".

A post on the restaurant's Facebook page, by Peter and Michelle, said: "After a wonderful three years and much consideration we have decided that 2024 will be the year Peter hangs up his apron at ParaPicarShipley.

"As some of you know we moved to live in Lancashire permanently last year and the additional commute and long hours over the weekends are taking their toll.

"ParapIcar has always been about being that relaxed place.

"Where you can get personally cooked food and welcoming service; have a tapa with friends or your regular brunch and coffee.

"We've thought long and hard about different ways we could continue but if anything changed it just wouldn’t be the same for us, and we wouldn't want to compromise on what we do best.

"We’re not going anywhere just yet but we are actively looking for someone who may be interested in taking over the business/premises.

"Whilst this progresses and as we don’t want to let anyone down, we will continue to offer the same services however we won’t be able to offer vouchers or future café bookings beyond March 2024.

"We will be continuing hamper, dine at home and bespoke home catering services but will talk more about that at another time.

"We hope you will continue to support us and our amazing Molly & team as we contemplate the changes ahead."

The Telegraph & Argus approached Para Picar for further comment.
