POLICE are investigating reports of males seen wearing balaclavas after a spate of burglaries in the Keighley area.

West Yorkshire Police is investigating a series of incidents between Sunday (January 7) and Monday (January 8). 

The force said a garage was broken into on Maple Avenue, Oakworth, sometime between 3pm on Sunday and 1.30am on Monday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers were in the area after receiving reports of suspicious males wearing balaclavas.

"The officers noticed a panel missing from a garage door on Maple Avenue.

"After speaking to the owner it was established that a pedal cycle had been stolen."

Another theft took place on Harewood Hill, Damems, near Oakworth, between 12am and 10am on Sunday.

A number of power tools were stolen from a garage.

A police spokesperson said: "CCTV revealed three suspects were seen to enter the property and make off with the tools."

A shed was broken into at an address on Mannville Road, Keighley, at around 3am on Monday.

A police spokesperson said: "Six males were seen leaving the property with two stolen pedal cycles. The rear gate to the property had also been damaged."

Between 11.30pm and 11.45pm on Sunday, suspects attempted to break into a garage at an address on Fern Bank Avenue, Keighley.

A letterbox size hole was cut in the garage door, but nothing was taken.

A similar attempt was made at a neighbouring property.
