A SPECIALIST Bradford painting company and one of its directors have been ordered to pay more than £2,000.

UPVC Spray Painters Ltd, which is based in Hutson Street, Holme Top, and Aqib Kapre, failed to respond to two separate police queries.

Kapre, 33, of Hutson Street and his company were found guilty of failing to provide police with the identity of a driver who was alleged to have committed an offence, at Humber Magistrates' Court last Thursday.

Both cases related to requests made at Beverley by, or on behalf of, the Chief Officer of Police for Humberside.

The request connected to the company was on December 13, 2022 and on March 1, in relation to Kapre.

Both instances were linked to information from the parties about the identity of the driver of a blue Peugeot Expert Compact who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence in each case.

Kapre did not attend the trial and the company, and himself, were proved guilty in his absence.

The firm and Kapre were ordered to pay £2,068 in total.

This included a £660 fine, a £264 surcharge to fund victim services, and costs of £110, for the company and Kapre respectively.

Kapre was also handed six penalty points on his driving licence.

Companies House lists Kapre as a director of UPVC Spray Painters Ltd as a director, as well as another individual.

The company specialises in spray painting a variety of surfaces on commercial and residential properties, particularly for renovations, and works across the country.
