MORE than 500 cannabis plants worth £500,000 were seized by police in a big raid on a cannabis farm in West Yorkshire.

The large cannabis farm was discovered by police officers from the Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), which covers Batley, Birkenshaw, Birstall, Cleckheaton, East Bierley, Gomersal, Heckmondwike, Liversedge and surrounding areas.

A spokesperson for the Batley and Spen NPT said: "NPT officers conducted a raid on a cannabis farm within the Batley and Spen area.

"Over 500 plants were seized with a predicted street value of over half a million pounds."
