A BRADFORD school has been praised for the "positive relationships in place" which allow students and adults to "flourish".
Staff and students at Immanuel College, located on Leeds Road in Idle, are celebrating following a glowing Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) outcome.
Immanuel, which is part of the Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT), is delighted that the report identifies how important the Christian vision is to all aspects of its work.
SIAMS inspections are the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools and explore ways in which the school’s theologically-rooted Christian vision drives its work and enables the school to live up to its foundation as a church school.
Immanuel College was inspected under the SIAMS framework in December 2023 .
The inspector stated a fundamental strength was that “lives are transformed as a result of the deeply embedded, well-understood, biblically-based vision”.
They added that the college is an “excellent example of religious and racial tolerance and cohesion”.
The report details the delivery of “consistently high-quality RE through an empowering and inspirational curriculum” and how “RE is consistently well-taught and students rightly consider it a safe place to discuss and explore faith”.
Collective worship was described as having a “profound and transformational impact on students and adults” and the report commented on the fact that “student leadership of collective worship is powerful”.
The report concludes with the validation that Immanuel College is living up to its foundations as a Church school.
Mr Mulligan, headteacher at Immanuel College, said: “We are thrilled for our pupils, staff and our whole Immanuel Family.
"This report is a testament to the commitment that all members of the college have to our Christian vision.
"The inspection outcome is a result of a whole team effort; in particular the exemplary work and dedication of the Chaplaincy team is fundamental to ensuring that the Christian vision really is lived out in everything we do on a day-to-day basis.”
Carol Dewhurst OBE, Chief Executive Officer at Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, added: “This is a really strong commendation of the work Immanuel College does day in and day out to support both the academic and pastoral development of their students.
"The report describes a caring, inclusive and ambitious school that puts the child at the centre of everything they do.
"Well done to all staff and students – a wonderful endorsement to start 2024."
