POLICE say high-visibility patrols have brought about a reduction in anti-social behaviour in a town centre.
A long-standing priority for neighbourhood policing officers in Cleckheaton has been to target anti-social behaviour and nuisance youths in the town centre causing issues to local businesses, in particular around the bus station and Memorial Park.
In a recent update, the area's NPT said: "With the high visibility patrols increased for the nuisance off road bikes, these extra patrols have also meant that we have seen a decrease in the number of ASB related incidents within Cleckheaton Town Centre.
"We have also worked alongside partner agencies such as the council ASB teams to achieve this."
Specially trained officers using off-road motorbikes have been tackling the issues of nuisance motorcycles in the town. This has resulted in a number of motorcycles being seized and offenders being dealt with for driving offences.
