BRADFORD Council has announced the following temporary road closures in the district:

* Avenue Road, in the BD5 area of Bradford, for construction works to be carried out. The order affects the length of Avenue Road from a point outside No.38 Avenue Road to a point outside No.46 Avenue Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for traffic will be available via Avenue Road (unaffected section), Parkside Road, New Cross Street and vice versa. The order will come into effect at 6am on January 9 and will remain in force until 6pm on January 9, then again from 6am to 6pm on January 16.

* Low Ash Drive, Shipley, for water works to be carried out.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for traffic will be available via Low Ash Drive (unaffected section), Low Ash Avenue, Low Ash Grove and vice versa. The order comes into effect at 8am on January 8 until 6pm on January 10.

* Leeds Road, Eccleshill, for telecommunication works to be carried out.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative traffic routes will be via Leeds Road (unaffected section), Fagley Road, Killinghall Road, Harrogate Road and vice versa. The order will come into effect at 8am hours on January 11 and remain in force until 6pm on January 11.

* Footpath no 624 (Bradford South), Bierley, for construction works to be carried out. The order affects the length of the footpath for approximately 135 metres from its junction with Bierley Lane to the entrance to Bierley Hall Woods.

No alternative routes for pedestrians will be available.The order will remain in force until 6pm on May 1.

* A public footpath in Wyke is to be added to the Definitive Map and Statement for Bradford.

Footpath no 672, in the former Urban District of Bradford as shown by a broken black line on the map annexed to the order, commences at Huddersfield Road at Grid Reference: SE 1531 2717, and continues in a north-west direction for 39 metres to Woodside Road at Grid Reference: SE 1528 2720.
