POLICE have launched an investigation after a 72-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash. 

The incident took place on South Street, Keighley, at around 5.52pm on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to reports that a van had been in collision with a pedestrian.

The 72-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

West Yorkshire Police arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the incident.

He has since been released under investigation.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses of the serious collision to come forward.

Enquiries are ongoing, a spokesperson said.
