A message of harmony was shared during a multi-faith event for Hanukkah in Bradford.

Hanukkah, known as the Festival of Lights, serves as a timeless reminder of hope and light over darkness.

2023 marks 150 years of the Bradford Synagogue on Bowland Street.

The Bradford Jewish Congregation, the Lord Mayor of Bradford Gerry Barker, and representatives from different faiths attended. 

Ravinder Dharni and Deepak Sharma, from the Bradford Hindu Council presented the congregation with a commemorative plaque, acknowledging the enduring legacy since the congregation's inception in 1873.

The Hindu Council wanted to illustrate the strength found in cultural diversity.

The plaque stands as a testament to the bonds between diverse communities and shared values of harmony and unity.

The poignant moment took place as the menorah's lights shone bright.
