TRIBUTES are pouring in after police found a body in their search for a missing Bradford teenager.   

Lewis Priestley, 19, was reported missing from his home in Allerton on December 6.  

Officers said a body was found in the grounds of Grattan Warehouse on Thornton Road late last night.

Formal identification is yet to take place but Lewis' family has been made aware of developments.

West Yorkshire Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Labour Councillor Shakeela Lal, who represents the City ward on Bradford Council, was among the many people to speak of her sorrow at the news.

She told the Telegraph & Argus: "This is so incredibly sad - I was very upset to learn what had happened.

"All our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Lewis at this time.

"It's absolutely tragic."

A spokesperson for Grattan Warehouse said: "We have been working with police since the discovery of a body in the grounds of the warehouse.

"We express our condolences to the family and friends of the person who has sadly passed away."

'RIP sweet angel'

Hundreds of tributes and heartfelt messages have also been coming in on social media, including on the Telegraph & Argus' Facebook page.

Abdah Ghaffar said: "So, so sad. 

"There are no words to describe what the family must be going through."

West Yorkshire Police's full statement 

A force spokesperson said: "Police searching for missing Bradford teenager Lewis Priestley have found a body. 

"Lewis, aged 19, was reported missing from his home in Allerton on December 6.  

"Just after 11pm yesterday, a body was found on land belonging to Grattan Warehouse on Thornton Road.  

"While formal identification is yet to take place, the family of Lewis has been informed. 

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"The coroners' office has been notified."

Over the weekend, police released CCTV footage of Lewis' last known movements.

At the time, officers said "extensive" enquiries were taking place to find the teenager.
