A celebration of Bangladesh’s Victory Day is taking place in Bradford this weekend.
It will be 52 years since Bangladesh was liberated from the occupation forces on Saturday, December 16.
It is marked annually as ‘Victory Day’, and this year's event will feature children's art competition, songs, dance, poetry recitation and a sumptuous buffet dinner.
The free event - organised by BEAP Community Partnership - is taking place from 5pm at Prestige Hall, off Leeds Road.
Bradford East MP Imran Hussain will attend as the chief guest.
People from all ages, faiths and backgrounds are invited to attend.
Lukman Miah, programme and centre development manager of BEAP, said "We like to welcome all communities to join us on the day to celebrate with us and to have a meal with us. Bradford is about building understanding and community cohesion among all communities of Bradford and we want to play our part.”
