Police have launched an investigation after a man was injured in an assault.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of an incident on Albert Road in Saltaire at 9.20am on Monday (December 11).

It took place close to a primary school when parents would have just dropped off their children.

A man was treated in hospital after he received injuries to his arm. 

Enquiries are ongoing, a police spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are investigating reports of an assault on Albert Road at around 9.20am yesterday (December 11).

"A man was treated in hospital for injuries to his arm.

"Positive lines of enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact police via 101 quoting crime reference 13230682622."
