A LARGE Bradford school has appointed a new secondary principal.

Bradford Academy, on Teasdale Street in East Bowling, was rated 'Requires Improvement' by Ofsted earlier this year.

Now, the all-through academy has brought in the experienced Chris Rowbottom to head up the position of secondary principal.

A post on the academy's Facebook page read: "After an extensive recruitment and interview process involving both internal and external candidates, we are pleased to announce that Chris Rowbottom emerged as the ideal candidate to lead Bradford Academy Secondary into the future.

"With 25 years of teaching experience, including leadership roles at Prince Henry’s, Rodillian and Nidderdale High School, Chris’s expertise and dedication make him well-suited for this position.

"Chris will be providing strategic leadership whilst working with staff and learners in the planning and implementation of our school improvement plan, to continue to drive towards our academy targets.

"Chris has our full support as he takes up the challenges that are ahead in the coming years and we ask that you please join us in congratulating and welcoming Chris as we offer him our full commitment and support as our new secondary principal."
