Bingley-based online fashion retailer Damart is marking 70 years in business.

Damart sold its first thermal garments back in 1953, when the world famous Thermolactyl label was born.

The unique fibre was among the first ever to keep people warm and cosy in soft breathable fabrics.

The retailer has been celebrating the milestone moment with staff as well as launching a limited-edition anniversary collection.

As well as birthday buffet lunches and activities, all colleagues at Bingley and Steeton have been presented with a limited edition 70th anniversary thermal top.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Fiona Mannion, managing director at Damart, said: “It’s been a big year for the Damart brand. It’s great to be able to celebrate with all of our colleagues who make Damart the company it is today.

“We would also like to say a very big thank to our customers, many of whom have shopped with us down the years and been loyal.”

It comes after Friends of Myrtle Park bought six benches for the lower meadow area with a grant from Damart’s On Senior’s Side foundation.

It will help older park users and those with mobility issues access riverside and woodland views, watch events and games in the meadow and take longer walks.
