BUDDING writers at a Bradford primary school have teamed up with an author and illustrator to publish their own book.

Students from Bowling Park Primary School brought their book, ‘Broadford to Bradford’, to the world this November.

The pupils worked collaboratively with author Richard O’Neill and illustrator Michelle Russell.

Year six students spent 12 months completing the book as they visited historic sites such as Little Germany and Bradford Cathedral to research how the buildings had changed over time.

Free copies of the book will be distributed to primary schools across the district to amplify and raise the profile of heritage and the children who took on this challenge.

The book was funded by The Leap who wanted to support heritage projects that captured the essence and stories of Bradford.

The book also shares the individual voices and experiences of the people who live here.
