A BRADFORD school invited dads to come along for an event that coincided with International Men's Day.

All Saints C of E Primary School, on Little Horton Green, Bradford, held an International Men’s Day event to engage dads at school.

The event featured a number of stalls set up featuring Kids Coaching UK, Bradford Trident, Bradford College and the NHS. Bradford City player Harvey Rowe was in attendance, as were PCSOs from the neighbourhood policing team and D.R. Woodland Wellbeing.

“The Woodland group got the dads involved to start a little fire using a splint and then boiling a kettle of tea,” said All Saints parental involvement worker Vicki Nixon. "I've absolutely delighted with all of the people who came out and provided services for the men who attended.

"I can't believe how the men reacted to the outdoor woodland activities.

"It's the first of many events. We hope that more men will come and join us and get involved in activities with their children. We have some after school clubs where parents can come in and take part alongside their children.

“We’ve also just set up some maths and English courses for men at our school.”
