A NUMBER of flights are being diverted from Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) tonight - as Storm Debi continues to cause disruption across the country.

Among the diversions are a Jet2 arrival from Tenerife, which will be landing at Manchester Airport, a Jet2 arrival from Dalaman Mugla, which has been sent to land at East Midlands Airport, and a Jet2 arrival from Arrecife, which will also be touching down at East Midlands Airport.

Earlier, a spokesperson for LBA said: "At present, LBA is open as usual, however, adverse weather conditions have caused disruption to flight schedules.

"Passengers should check with their airline or tour operator for the status of their flights.

"Passengers can also check our arrivals and departures page on the LBA website for live updates."

Storm Debi has been bringing strong winds and heavy rain in the UK during the day.

A Met Office yellow warning of wind in West Yorkshire had been due to end at 6pm - but it has now been extended to 9pm.
