HUNDREDS of people gathered for the grand relaunch of Bradford’s Cedar Court Hotel.

More than £1m was spent on the refurbishment of the long-standing hotel, located at the top of the M606.

All 130 bedrooms and 20 conference suites have been upgraded with fresh carpets, new lighting, and an overall brighter look.

Wayne Topley, managing director of Cedar Court Hotel, said: “We’ve spent over a million pounds getting this hotel up and running for the good people of Bradford.

“It’s been a difficult couple of years and it’s been a great opportunity for us to spend and invest our money back into the hotel.”

Cedar Court is TripAdvisor's top-rated hotel in Bradford for service.

Traffic at the hotel has risen back to what it was in 2019 and the company is seeing huge success.

To keep up with the latest trends, the hotel has upped its game with plush chairs, chandeliers, good use of natural light, and a sense of minimalism with light tones.

Emily Turner, senior group event manager said: “The hotel is very flexible and adaptable.

“It’s got a mix for entertainment events, and conferences and I think it just looks amazing, it’s a huge step up from before.”

The hotel can host all sorts of events, from Christmas parties to weddings and meetings.

In his speech, Mr Topley said it’s not very often one gets to re-do a hotel but it was an excellent exercise in repurposing and bringing Bradford's Cedar Court back to what it was.

Liz Wood, from the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “If you don’t have a childhood memory of an event here then you’re not from Bradford.”

The grand relaunch took place in the foyer of the hotel.

Ms Turner added: “The team at Cedar Court Hotels is very flexible and pays great attention to detail.

“The new space can really be used for any event.”
